Maarten Vanwildemeersch, founder of Saccharolicous, started the company in 2012 as a means of developing and distributing his private collection of yeast and bacteria.

After receiving his undergraduate degree in brewing science in Belgium, Maarten moved to Sweden and obtained a PhD from Uppsala University in 2006. In 2011, Maarten started working as a brewer for Slottskällans Bryggeri in Uppsala, Sweden.

Combining his experience in both brewery and laboratory, Maarten is able to provide ambitious (home)brewers with a wide variety of yeast and bacterial strains.
